Discovering Tatung’s initial aspiration

In commemoration of their 100th anniversary, time-honored home appliance brand Tatung held a special exhibition to reflect on old products and showcase new inventions. They collaborated with Bito to create an image film, outlining the brand’s spirit and vision and arousing recognition from the younger generation.

We decided to discuss the century-old Tatung with the theme “initial aspiration of design.” Tatung began as a company with excellent home appliance design, and their electric cookers, fans, and televisions have had a profound impact on the lives of Taiwanese people.

We therefore took another look back at each one of Tatung’s well-known products, pointing out their intriguing strengths through hip-hop rap lyrics and rhythms, all while retaining the catchy phrase, “Tatung, Tatung, a good domestic product,” in the song. The visual style combined the use of 3D, 2D, and live-action footage to convey a friendly, youthful, and vibrant image. We also crafted dynamic performances for the mascot, Baby Tatung, repackaging past memories with popular trends to bring about a sense of resonance with the younger generation.
