In 2026, the Taiwan Lantern Festival arrives in Chiayi. Bito reinterprets the traditional Chinese characters “嘉義” into a contemporary visual language. Breaking from past approaches, this year’s concept is rooted in Chiayi’s distinctive geography and cultural identity. Starting from the characters “嘉義,” Bito introduces a new city character—Chiayi Hero—reimagined from traditional type into living figures.
Led by two city ambassadors, Jia-Jia and Yi-Yi, audiences are invited to explore Chiayi from fresh perspectives—from the dawn of Alishan and the legacy of the Southern Branch of the National Palace Museum, to Yuejue Station, Zhaoping Park, and the Taiwan Lantern Festival—rediscovering the city’s culture, technology, and urban beauty.
